This is for me a highlight of the LA scene. We’re going to put on a hell of a show and I’ve got a group of the best players in Los Angeles behind me to make sure of that.

LOS ANGELES, CA, USA, April 20, 2022 /EINPresswire.com/ — Americana up-and-coming artist Matt Axton is on a mission in the new year. He just released his latest official music video for his critically acclaimed song, Blue Sky Rain; now, Axton will be performing at one of LA’s premier live music and country-americana event/series, “The Grand Ole Echo.” Every Sunday from April to September, The Grand Ole Echo presents the best of American and roots music from LA. Axton will perform specifically on Sunday, April 24 at 7 p.m. (show from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m.). The Grand Ole Echo is hosted at The Echo in Echo Park, Los Angeles CA. Matt will perform his new single Blue Sky Rain as well as many of his original Country-Americana songs. As with every show, Matt will pay homage to his father, Hoyt Axton, performing some of Hoyt’s original songs to keep his father’s spirit and music alive.

Like his father, Hoyt Axton, who played the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville countless times during his musical career, Matt is proud to play the Grand Ole Echo of the West Coast. The Grand Ole Echo is LA’s premier music event for Country-Americana. “It’s an honor to perform on this stage and to be in a lineup with so many talented American country-grass artists based in Los Angeles, each bringing their own distinct flavor to the show,” says Axton. “It’s a standout moment for me on the LA stage. We’re going to put on a hell of a show and I’ve got a bunch of LA’s top players behind me to make sure of that. Matt will be joined by LA-based musicians: Matt Brundrett (drums), Ryan Posner (bass), Taylor Kropp (guitar), Korey Simeone (violin), Kenny Feinstein (other) and Brenda Carsey (backing vocals).

Matt Axton is a songwriter, singer, guitarist, solo performer and bandleader with a wide range of skills. His music is a combination of folk, funk, country, blues and rock which he describes as a “humble slice of Americana”. Matt was born and raised in Lake Tahoe, California, and traveled to Los Angeles to bring his mountain vibes to the city, carrying on the family tradition. With over 300 original songs, Matt is making his mark on the musical universe with a single and video by Blue Sky Rain. Matt continues a family musical legacy that began with his grandmother Mae Boren Axton, who co-wrote Heartbreak Hotel for Elvis, and continued with his father, Hoyt Axton, a legendary country-folk star with dozens of hits to his credit, such as Joy to the World (“Jeremiah was a bullfrog”), Never Been to Spain, The Pusher, and many others.

Axton continues, “Although I’m relatively new to the Los Angeles music scene, I’m not new to the life of a musician, and I’ve seen what ingredients it takes to create a truly organic music scene. And I can tell you that in Los Angeles it’s bubbling below the surface right now. In this strange semi-post covid atmosphere there is a unique energy, the artists support each other and everyone’s creative play is stimulated. With a real emphasis on originality, especially in the American Eastside scene, I’m just happy to be able to add a few ingredients to this strange brew.
